PEACE Program
Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling, Empowerment
This program helps children whose emotional health and self esteem have been impacted by family conflict, and supports clients (age 3-18) to explore non-violent ways of conflict resolution to help end the inter-generational cycle of abuse.
The program helps children and youth to:
Identify their feelings and express them in healthy ways
Recognize their strengths and increase their self-confidence
Understand what abuse is and that they are not responsible
Identify support networks and develop a safety plan
Explore stereotypes and myths about relationships and about violence in the media
Develop conflict resolution skills
Counselling sessions are available in person in Nakusp and New Denver.
Support via Zoom and phone can be arranged if in-person sessions are not possible.
Please email PEACE Counsellor, Christine Parton at christine.parton@aslcs.com
if you would like support for your child.
