“Sometimes the greatest gift you can give another person is to simply include them.” Joy Zabala

At Arrow and Slocan Lakes Community Services, we work together to develop and deliver programs designed to improve the lives of people with diverse abilities in our area. We recognize that without diversity, we cannot have a healthy community. As ongoing advocates for inclusive and responsive strategies we engage in outreach and community-based activities to meet the needs of all people.

What is Community Works?

Community Works is a social venture that provides employment training opportunities to individuals with diverse abilities, skills, capabilities, and potential while also providing social benefits to the community.

The goal of Community Works is to help those individuals to achieve more independent lives by providing opportunities for work experience, community engagement, social activities and employment supports as well as soft-skill development.

Community Works runs a program called “Bridging the Labour Market Gaps” which helps to train and support individuals who are unemployed or precariously employed and facing a variety of barriers to employment. For more information please download our intake form below.
