NAKUSP SAFE HOME

The Safe Home Program provides safe, confidential, and free temporary housing to women (and their dependent children) fleeing violence or the risk of violence. The service is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

This program gives women a safe and supportive living environment with access to daily living requirements such as clothing, toiletries, and food. Safe Home also provides transportation, accompaniment, and advocacy support, as well as assisting clients with applications for financial assistance, legal aid, and or affordable housing. Safe Home can also provide resource information to enable women to explore their options and define their goals as well as assist with the development of safety plans.

The Safe Home Program is available to residents of Nakusp and all surrounding areas including Edgewood, Fauquier, Burton, Trout Lake, Summit Lake, Hills, New Denver and Silverton.

Safe Home can be accessed by calling 250-265-1843.
