SKY Coordinated Response
Safe Kids and Youth -(SKY) Coordinated Response
The Safe Kids & Youth (SKY) Coordinated Response aims to ensure that children and youth in the West Kootenay Boundary region of British Columbia who come forward about their experiences of abuse, violence or neglect receive the best possible response from the range of services they connect with.
SKY is a rural adaption of a Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) model, which includes all the same best practice elements yet is configured in such a way to better serve children, youth and their non-offending caregivers residing in rural communities. The goal is a more seamless and coordinated response to child/youth abuse that reduces the potential for
re-traumatization.
